Telling Stories to Change the World
The session will focus on how stories build relationships and utilize them as a collaborative research methodology. It will use lessons learned from the making of the 13 Leaders: Stories of Community Building for Systemic Change book.
Guest Speaker
Scott J. Peters is a professor in the Department of Global Development at Cornell University. From 2012-2017, he served as Faculty Co-Director of a national consortium devoted to supporting engaged learning and public scholarship in arts, humanities, and design fields: Imagining America: Artists and Scholars in Public Life. His latest book, co-authored with Daniel O’Connell, is In the Struggle: Scholars and the Fight Against Industrial Agribusiness in California (New Village Press, 2021). He also serves as co-editor of the Cornell University Press book series, Publicly Engaged Scholars: Identities, Purposes, and Practices.
